Chinese New Year & Burns Night

Thursday 23 January 2020 - 10:00 AM
This year, Burns Night and Chinese New Year have both landed on the 25th Jan.
We love to celebrate events at The Old Forge, so to ensure we donโ€™t miss an opportunity, we are planning to have a delicious Burns Night ‘Supper’ today with Kate making Offal-Free Haggis (made with lamb), served with neeps & tatties, followed by Cranachan for a tasty dessert (Alcohol free of course!)
For Chinese New Year, the children will enjoy an assortment of delicious Chinese dishes for their tea on Friday
The children will also be enjoying creating their own tasty dishes, Bear Cubs have made their own spring rolls accompanied with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.
Little Bears and Preschool will be stoking up the fire in Forest School ready for Chinese rice and prawn crackers at lunchtime.
Big Bears are taste tasting Chinese foods and creating tree bark dragons .
Pre-school Bears have also begun making Chinese lanterns and learning about the celebration of Chinese New Year as well as dancing to traditional Chinese music.
